Tom W. Appling (aka Wayne) Maintenance Support - Asia & Middle East

Wayne's career in aviation maintenance and support is a testament to his deep expertise and leadership in the industry, especially in his work with Gulfstream Aircraft models from GIV through G650. As the Designated Team Lead for the USA-based MROInsiders, Wayne has been instrumental in expanding AOG support capabilities on a global scale, with an initial focus on Asia and the Middle East. His leadership of a dynamic team of freelance mechanics and engineers has been pivotal in enhancing the maintenance quality, reliability, and safety of diverse aircraft fleets.

Wayne's extensive experience includes significant roles such as Flight Mechanic/Engineer, where he provided crucial support for Gulfstream aircraft under challenging conditions, and Director of Maintenance for multiple Florida-based charter operations, managing both Gulfstream and Hawker 800 aircraft with precision and skill. His achievements in Asia are particularly notable, having established the first Gulfstream Aerospace Warranty Repair Station in the Philippines and helping to pioneer the corporate aviation industry in China as a Licensed HK B2 Avionics & Quality Engineer. This, coupled with his foundational years at Gulfstream Aerospace and a distinguished military service in the United States Air Force, highlights Wayne's comprehensive expertise and commitment to advancing the field of aviation maintenance and support.

Botond Hollo is a highly skilled aviation professional based in Budapest, Hungary, with an extensive background in aircraft maintenance and a strong focus on Bombardier and Boeing aircraft. Holding an EASA/UK CAA Part 66 B1/B2/C License, Botond is certified in a wide range of type ratings, including the Bombardier Global 7500 with Engine Run up, Challenger series (604/605/650/850 and 300/350), and Boeing 737 series (600/700/800/900 B2), showcasing a broad and in-depth understanding of aircraft systems.

Botond's professional journey began in September 2010 at Lufthansa Technik Budapest, where he started as a trainee and evolved into an unlicensed mechanic, gaining significant experience in base maintenance "C" checks on Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 fleets. His career progressed with roles at Aeroplex of Central Europe and Bombardier Aerospace Services in the UK, where he specialized in base and line maintenance tasks, modifications, and warranty works, particularly on Challenger and Global series aircraft.

In September 2021, Botond moved to Austria to join Bombardier Aerospace Austria/MRT Europe, focusing on line and minor base maintenance, and warranty works, as well as traveling to carry out AOG tasks that require extensive troubleshooting and proactive capabilities. Since September 2023, he has been the owner of RAVIATION Technical Support Ltd., offering technical support for Part 145 facilities and serving as a dedicated technician for Bombardier Global 7500 among other roles.

Botond's educational background includes specialized aircraft technical training from CAE/Bombardier, covering various Bombardier aircraft models. He possesses excellent communication skills, a customer-oriented mindset, and a high interest in tackling new tasks efficiently. Botond is proficient in English and native in Hungarian. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is passionate about travel, cycling, motorsports, and reading technical articles, which not only enrich his personal life but also contribute to his professional development.
